Parish News

  • AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE REGARDING THE PENNSYLVANIA GRAND JURY REPORT

As you may be aware, the statewide Grand Jury released its findings after investigating child sexual abuse within six of the eight Dioceses in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

However painful, the report underscores the importance of the child safety policies and procedures that we have put in place, and we will continue our commitment to providing a safe environment for all of our children and youth here at Saint Ann Catholic Church and throughout the Diocese of Scranton.

Bishop Bambera shared a video address with the faithful of our Diocese, and released a statement to the local media. We encourage you to review these materials via the link noted below and also on the Diocesan website. You may also share them with others, if you choose to do so. We hope these materials will answer your questions about the report. However, we welcome you to reach out should you have any further questions. Father John would be happy to speak with you at your convenience.

We recognize that this is a difficult time, but we are working hard to bring peace to our people and to restore their trust in the Church. Thank you for your continued support of Saint Ann Catholic Church and the Diocese of Scranton.
