Deacon's Corner: Catholic Schools Week
January 29, 2023, 12:00 PM
Today we begin Catholic Schools Week. This is a great time to reflect on how we teach the Faith to our children. Parents are the first teachers. They love their children and teach them that God loves them even more. They have their children baptized so they become adopted sons and daughters of God and temples of the Holy Spirit. Another way to pass on our Faith is through Catholic Schools. The Diocese of Scranton is proud of the 15 elementary schools and 4 high schools that provide a well-rounded education, offer an enriching curriculum that includes the arts, foreign languages, physical education, and latest computer technology to complement the core subjects of religion, math, language arts, social studies, and science. From Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade, the curriculum enables students to reach their greatest potential. The students live their faith, challenge their minds, serve their communities, and build lifelong friendships. All 19 schools are accredited by the Middle States Association and host Open Houses. For more information about Diocesan Catholic Schools, including tuition assistance, please visit www.DioceseofScranton.org/CatholicSchools.

Williamsport is home to the Saint John Neumann Regional Academy (SJNRA) with an Elementary Campus at 710 Franklin Street and a Junior/Senior High School Campus at 901 Penn Street. For more information, please visit www.sjnra.org or email admissions@sjnra.org. Your child deserves the best education, one that has an excellent environment that prepares students for college and life ahead. Choosing one of the Catholic Schools is the best investment you can make for his or her future and a decision you can be proud you made. Now you know!
