Parish News

  • An Important Message from Bishop Bambera

    UPDATED 3/25/20 9:00PM -
As you know, COVID-19 has created unusual times not only for us locally but for the entire world. While the Diocese of Scranton suspended public Masses in an effort to mitigate the spread of the virus, we must now look forward to the future – especially our Holy Week liturgies.

Given the continued acceleration of the coronavirus, our cherished Liturgies of Holy Week and Easter will all be celebrated privately this year within the Diocese of Scranton.

    Bishop Bambera's Video Message:

    Bishop Bambera's Letter: HERE

A HOLY WEEK LIVE BROADCAST SCHEDULE FOR SAINT ANN CATHOLIC CHURCH IS FORTHCOMING

    Maintained from previous correspondence:

Effective immediately, and until further notice, Bishop Joseph C. Bambera has suspended the celebration of Masses open to the public and all public gatherings in all diocesan parishes, worship sites, college campuses, chapels and health care facilities in the eleven counties of the Diocese of Scranton.

    FOR SAINT ANN CATHOLIC CHURCH:

No Masses will be celebrated publicly.

    • Mass will be celebrated privately on a daily basis for the good of our parishioners, the People of God, the Church, and the intentions of the day.
    • On Sundays, Mass will be recorded and posted at 12:00PM on the parish website (www.stannrcc.org).
    • Also, a private Mass will be celebrated daily in the Cathedral of Saint Peter in Scranton, and made available on CTV: Catholic Television of the Diocese of Scranton. On weekdays, the Mass will be broadcast at 12:10PM, 3:30PM, and 7:00PM. On weekends, the Saturday Vigil Mass will be broadcast at 4:00PM and rebroadcast on Sunday morning at 10:00AM. The Masses will also be streamed on the Diocese of Scranton’s website (www.dioceseofscranton.org), made available on the Diocese of Scranton’s social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) and will be accessible on the Diocese of Scranton’s YouTube channel.

No Sacraments will be celebrated publicly.

In light of continued concerns surrounding COVID-19, and upon the advice of medical experts, it is clear that we, as a faith community, must do our part in order to help slow the spread of this virus.

Please note that all the changes and cancellations are for the safety and well-being of our parishioners and local community.

Please refer to this Parish News section of our website (www.stannrcc.org) for the most current information on precautionary measures being taken.
